President

Christina Schauer is a United States Army Reserve Veteran with service experience in the Iraq War. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist by background and formerly directed the Military and Veteran Healthcare Program at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center. Currently, she serves as a Clinical Education Coordinator at Trinity Health in Livonia, Michigan.

Dawn Fleming

Vice President

Dawn Fleming is a Veteran of the Iowa Army National Guard with 15 years of dedicated service, including one tour of duty in Afghanistan. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid and School Certifying Official for VA Benefits at the Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Peosta Campus.

Kris Ortiz

Secretary

Kris Ortiz is a United States Army veteran who served as a medic, with assignments at Schweinfurt, Germany, and Fort Riley, Kansas. Her service included deployments to Kosovo in 1999 and Kuwait in 2000. Currently, she is employed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Reliance Matrix.

Debbie Bisping

Treasurer

Debbie Bisping is a United States Army National Guard veteran who served during the Iraq War. She currently serves as a Project Manager and Senior Technical Engineer at RFA Engineering.

Branden Herring

Marketing

Brandi Herring is a United States Coast Guard veteran currently serving as a Veterans Service Officer at the Dubuque County Veterans Services Office.

Karen “Bama” Ohnesorge

Fundraising Coordinator

Bama Ohnesorge is an Air Force Veteran with service history in Biloxi, Mississippi, Texas, and England. She presently holds the position of General Manager at the Yardarm Riverfront Bar & Grill.

Michelle Roling

Member Engagement

Michelle Roling is a proud U.S. Navy veteran with six years of dedicated service. In retirement, Michelle continues her commitment to service and community by serving not only on the TSWW board, but also as a member of the Bellevue State Park Board and the Felderman Park Board.

She considers her volunteer work and time with her grandchildren the most rewarding part of retirement.

Pam Schmidt

Digital Platform Coordinator

Pam Schmidt is a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Iraq War. She retired from the military after 34 years of service and is currently living the good life.

Julie Schulte

Volunteer Coordinator

Julie Schulte is a U.S. Air Force veteran. She is retired and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
